POIplaza is one of the world's largest GPS databases, from where you can download free of charge POIs selected by countries and categories - for PNA, PDA or mobile phone based navigation applications.
The POIplaza database contains 7,279,451 POIs from 221 countries in 4,707 categories, 21 formats. POIplaza has 1 registered users.
Our visitors are downloading on average 24,018 files per week.
A POI (Point of Interest) is a dataset containing GPS coordinates that represents interesting and important locations in navigation applications. The most popular POI categories are for example speedcams, accommodation locations, restaurants, petrol stations, parking lots, wifi hotspots, attractions, etc. POIplaza portal – similar to navigation applications – is able to plan routes to POIs, or to warn of their presence when passing by.
POI contains the name and address of the Point of Interest, phone number in international format (that can be dialed from an appropriate navigation device), and of course geographic coordinates: latitude and longitude. Ultimate applications may handle other data, like detailed description, working hours, other contacts, and even photos (rich POI).
Downloading POI data to your GPS navigation system or PDA couldn't be simpler. You simply choose a country and list of services then download the .zip file that corresponds to the navigation software you use to your computer. Once you have connected your device, unpack the data into the relevant POI folder on your device following easy, step-by-step guide, and you are ready to go.

3. Is there an option to import the files to the hard disk of the Comand Online?
No. SD-card and the USB-stick have to remain inserted while driving.
4. How many POIs can be loaded into Comand Online?
You can only load approximately 30.000 Points of Interest (POIs) into Comand Online devices. Please take care about that fact. Because Europe covers more than 43.000 speed camera locations. Our statistics helps you.
5. How I adjust the alert volume?
You can adjust it with the volume keys as soon as you hear the alert sound. There is no separate settings menu. It is similar to the phone function, where the volume can only be changed during the call.
6. Is there a way to show speed limit and red light icons?
Unfortunately no. Comand online devices are unable to import custom icons. The Mercedes software is always using default icons.
7. A beforehand working device refused to display speedcams after dealership update. What to do?
A customer reports from his 2017 Mercedes C200. His Mercedes dealership downloaded the latest device software. After that the device refused to display the speed camera database. The Comand system did not access the SD card loaded with the database.
The problem with the speed camera database has been rectified.
After re-formatting and re-naming the SD card, loading it with other .gpx databases (including a “current position” POI) as well as the SCDB version, the system finally sprang into life. Then he deleted all the data under Personal POIs except the SCDB database and so far the system works as it should.
